About Me

I am a Christian, a daughter, a big sister, a girlfriend, a friend, a PNP, and a busy body. I have an amazing family that I love more than anything. I have two little twin sisters who are my best friends. I have amazing parents who have been married for over 30 years and still love each other like the day the were married. I have a boyfriend, CJ, who loves me despite the fact that I can be hard to love a lot of the time. I am "Two-two" to his daughter, Lily.  I love her more than I ever thought possible!  I have some amazing friends who have been with me through some really hard times and some really fun times. I "retired" from teaching after 4 years to pursue a career in nursing as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner. I love life and most importantly, I love GOD!! He is my Redeemer and my Savior. I thank Him each and every day for all the blessing I have in my life. I try my best to live each day to bring Him glory!

I think cooking is one of the greatest pleasures in life!  It is one giant chemistry experiment.  Most of the time it goes well but there are definitely times when I have been asked to "please not make that again."  I try my best to eat healthy, fresh, organic foods although I will admit I always have room for sweet treats.  I do have one rule when cooking, you have to make the recipe your own.  I am not the most adventurous person so deviating from a recipe is living on the edge to me.  It would be a dream to write a cookbook one day and to be on a cooking show (although I think chefs on cooking shows are usually really annoying).  And I do have to say that I think my apron collection is more impressive than most of my clothes.

I love almost anything outdoors...running (slowing jogging is more like it), biking, kayaking, hiking, and tennis.  I actually enjoy reading research articles on current health topics. I have always been a creative person and I am trying to be more "crafty" especially since the addition of Pintrest to my life.  Trying to teach myself to sew which has been a little more challenging than I expected!!
