Spring is Here!!!!!

This week has been AMAZING!  The weather and start to spring has literally had me skipping around!  It has been the perfect reason to spend most of my time outside playing.  Sunday, CJ and I met up with our friends Jason and Jordan in Piedmont Park for a little picnic, wine, and yard games.  It was a little cloudy and windy but apparently that didn't stop the sun.  CJ ended up with a lovely raccoon style sunburn on his face ad the tops of my feet are a lovely shade of red.

The weather only improved as the week continued.  I enjoyed some quality baking time (see what I made here... Baking day!) and a beautiful run on Wednesday where my running tan lines have now begun.  Only a few more days before my half marathon which my friend and I have decided we will probably be walking the entire thing since neither one of us felt like training.  Oh well, a 13.1 mile walk is better than no exercise at all!  CJ and Lily came home from work/school and I pushed everyone out the door to the park.  We packed a picnic dinner and the soccer ball so we could enjoy more of the 80 degree weather and the blooming flowers.

Our picnic consisted of some greek yogurt for Lily (she LOVES yogurt), chicken wraps (tortilla with shredded chicken, alfalfa sprouts, avocado, spinach, and tomato), a side of watermelon, and homemade chocolate chip cookies for dessert.  For the recipe go here...Chocolate Chip Cookies

Taking a rest after so much running around.  Lily has decided she wants to be a runner.  She came home on Tuesday and wanted to go jogging in her "running" shorts.  She wouldn't get in the jogging stroller...she wanted to jog!  Over our 3 mile loop, she ran at least 1.5 miles of it (in sections).  I think she may be ready for her first fun run!!!!  Whooo hooo, a running partner...even if she is only 4!

Big plans for some of the same quality outdoor time this weekend.  Two playdates at the park for Saturday with friends :-)  Loving the weather (as long as my allergies hold off!!!).  Welcome Spring!  Finally had to whip up a spring time wreath for the front door.  Burlap and flowers made from ribbon.

Weekend Getaway to Savannah!

A minute for self promotion...if you have kids or have a friend or family member with children please check out the "Shop" link above as I have taken on a part time job selling adorable kids clothes!

Last weekend CJ, Lily, and I took a long weekend trip down to Savannah to visit my young and energetic 97 year old grandpappy and my AMAZING Aunt Riley.  Here is a recap of our time there...

No trip to Savannah would be complete without a visit to Riverstreet

This girl loves to eat and wear pasta!

 It was chilly!!!!!!
"Can I go in the fountain?"
"I really want to run through it!  It looks like so much fun."
"I can?  Oh, I don't know how I feel about that!"
 "Okay, I'll do it!"
"Maybe I will think about it for a minute."
 "Let's do it!"

"That was so much fun!!!!!  Let's do it again!!"
This is one wet little girl!

Byrd Cookie Company...one of my favorite places from Childhood!  And now they have a cookie bar that serves milkshakes...makes me so happy!!!
This picture means even more now that the Harrelson clan had to put her down this weekend.  We love you Pansy!
 Visiting with Grandpappy
Thanks Riley for such a yummy shrimp and grits dinner :-)

Lily practicing her map skills.  She was giving us directions through the wildlife refuge.  Again, another place I loved when I was a kid.

 "Look, a huge alligator!!!"

Spending some time in The Landings taking a walk down memory lane. I got to take Lily to two of my favorite places from when I was her age...the tower and the marina.  So many memories in those two places :-)  It was cold and windy as the huge storm was moving in so we didn't stay long!!!!!

Riley's phone got a text from Clay and it was making a loud beeping noise every 5 minutes while we were all going to sleep.  CJ thought he would hide her phone under all the pillows to silence it...nope still could hear it from bed!!!

I didn't get any pictures on Sunday but we went to my Grandpappy's church and out to brunch before we hit the road.  Lily was the youngest person in church, followed by CJ and I, then Aunt Riley.  It was not a young crowd.  Lily sat through her first big church service.  She pulled me up to the front for the children's sermon which was just for her.  The pastor got done telling his not so friendly kid's sermon on transfiguration.  At the end he closed by saying the Jesus loves us.  Lily responded, loud enough so most of the church could hear her, "I already know that!"  I got a good laugh :-)

It was such a fun trip!  Riley is a trooper for spending the day roaming around Savannah.  Thanks for being an incredible hostess!!!  We love Aunt Riley and Grandpappy!!!
